Properties and areas of application of winter fleece 60 g
A winter fleece 60 g consists of fibres that are held together by their own structure, in the form of a lightweight mat or blanket. Thanks to this structure, it can be used in any way and can be moulded very flexibly. It is therefore ideal for protecting any garden plants, whether potted or outdoor plants of various heights and widths. The 60 g winter fleece can be put over shrubs like a sack or wrapped around the trunks and crowns of young trees and thus serves as additional insulation to protect the plants from frost. To ensure that the fleece 60 g stays in place throughout the winter, you should securely fasten it with cords.
The robust fleece protects plants from the cold and wind as well as from snow loads. Another advantage of the 60 g winter fleece is its lightness, light and moisture permeability. It is also breathable and protects against excessive sunlight. The 60 g winter fleece is also UV and weather-resistant and can be used as a cover for seedbeds and cold frames in spring.
How winter fleece 60 g works
First of all, it is important to know that plants need a stable temperature in winter in order to overwinter healthily. It is not the cold alone that is the main problem, but the extreme temperature fluctuations that often occur in winter. These fluctuations damage the plants and cause harmful and lasting stress that impairs their growth and health.
This is where the 60 g winter fleece comes into play. The fleece has a special function that offers the plants optimum protection during the cold months. When frost and winter cold set in, condensation forms on the underside of the fleece. The cold, passing outside air causes this water to freeze, whereby ice increasingly forms in the fibre structure of the 60 g winter fleece. This ice acts like a protective armour around the plants.
The resulting ice armour has a double protective function: It insulates the plants against the low outside temperatures and at the same time retains the heat rising from the soil. This mechanism creates a pleasantly warm microclimate under the fleece, which helps the plants to survive the cold season without stress. Our comprehensive range of winter fleece 60 g
In the Aquagart online shop, you can obtain high-quality winter fleece with a basis weight of 60 g/m², i.e. a thick fleece with plenty of thermal insulation. We offer it in many different sizes from 10 m² up to 400 m². The fleece 60 g is supplied in the form of a roll. You can therefore cut the individual parts to wrap your plants as you wish. Experience has shown that the volume of shrubs and trees is often underestimated. For this reason, we recommend that you cut about a third more winter fleece 60 g than you would spontaneously estimate. If you are unsure about how much fleece you need for all your garden plants, buy a larger roll and simply continue to use it next winter.
