Lay mole netting horizontally or vertically in the lawn

The easiest way is to embed the mole net before laying or sowing the lawn. If the lawn is already in place, you can also lay the net afterwards. However, due to the removal of the entire lawn, this is a very extensive task. If this is the case and you want to install the net at a later date, it would make sense to bury it vertically along the property boundary so that the mole is prevented from entering the site at all. This allows you to protect particularly large areas such as your garden or smaller beds.

If you want to lay lawn or turf the mole net is placed horizontally under the lawn. To do this, first roll it out and then secure it to the ground with ground anchors. The turf is then laid over the net. If you do not want to lay turf, it is also possible to spread a layer of humus over the net and sow the lawn seed on top.

When laying mole netting horizontally, it is essential to secure the netting with fastening anchors. This is why the mole guard has an extra reinforced edge with buttonholes. The ground anchors are versatile and can be used to secure weed fleece, garden fleece, soil mesh or embankment mats.

Properties of mole nets

An important question for many users of mole nets is whether they can harm the animals in any way. Our nets are a safe solution aimed at controlling the activity of moles without harming them. The nets are made of a robust material that prevents moles from digging through the ground and leaving molehills behind. However, they are specially designed to protect the environment without harming the mole. The nets do not affect the natural behaviour of the moles or their ability to find food. Moles may not be hunted, caught or injured in Germany, as they are an endangered species. That's why you should use our mole nets, which protect moles from damage and at the same time reliably protect your lawn from molehills.

Our mole protection can be supplied in different widths and sizes. In our online shop you will find two metre wide nets on rolls with a surface area of five to 800 m². You can also choose between lighter nets weighing 90 g and heavier nets weighing 150 g. They are made from hard-wearing polypropylene and have a very high temperature resistance of -40 °C to 80 °C. Our mole nets also impress with their resilience and special tear resistance, UV stability and rot resistance.

If moles or voles are prevented from digging by the net, they will leave the area

Be sure to thoroughly measure the property before installing a mole net so that you order the right number of square metres. If you have purchased an area that does not fit, you can also use the net for other purposes: It is ideal as a windbreak, leaf guard, privacy screen or cover net for riding arenas and sports fields.
