About us
Aquagart was founded in 2007 by Mr Andreas Traut in Heubisch, a picturesque community in Thuringia. From the very beginning, the company pursued the ambitious goal of offering high-quality products for ponds and gardens at an affordable price. The idea of setting up his own online shop arose from his personal experience that it was often difficult to find the products he needed for his own pond, which he had created in 2006, in bricks-and-mortar stores.
What began as a small side business developed over the years into a flourishing company that had already grown to 30 dedicated employees by 2025. For the first few years, shipping was initially limited to Germany, but Aquagart soon expanded its horizons and served a growing customer base in many countries across the European Union.
Aquagart Trading GmbH was founded in 2019 and is now managed by the second generation of the family, Thomas Traut and Fabian Traut. Under their leadership, the company continues to grow while remaining true to its original motto: quality and affordability for pond and garden enthusiasts alike. A passion for nature and the pursuit of customer satisfaction continue to drive Aquagart as they continue to expand and improve their product range. As a result, Aquagart remains not only a reliable partner for garden and pond enthusiasts, but also an example of successful entrepreneurship in the Thuringia region.
