Properties and use of tension wire 2.5 mm

Our tension wires 2.5 mm are made of thick galvanised, high-strength steel wire. One ring comprises a roll length of 250 metres. Accordingly, we offer a range of sizes from one to five rings (1250 m) in our online shop.

Tensioning wire 2.5 mm can be stretched between two posts to make the fence more resistant. To do this, the wire is tensioned with a wire tensioner. Without tension, the fence would be much more unstable, which is particularly noticeable with large post spacings. In this case, lateral loads in particular occur, which can cause fractures as the loads affect the mounting points. Our tensioning wires therefore contribute to a significantly longer service life of the fence, as the wire does not overstretch so quickly.

However, please note that, according to the motto "after tight comes loose", you should avoid overstretching the wire at all costs. This leads to faster wear and accordingly it can happen that the tensioning wire breaks 2.5 mm. It is also recommended that the 2.5 mm tensioning wire and the wire tensioner are from the same manufacturer, i.e. purchased in a complete set to ensure optimum coordination of the materials. How to use 2.5 mm tension wire for different types of fencing

After attaching the wire tensioners, first pull the wire tight in the lower third of the fence and then in the upper third. The 2.5 mm tension wire should initially only be slightly tensioned until tension is applied to all parts of the fence. By tightening all the wires, stable pressure can then be built up on all sides. In this way, the forces are optimally distributed.

For knotted mesh and wire mesh fences in particular, you must weave the tension wire 2.5 mm with the structure. Before you weave the wire, first determine the appropriate height for the wire tensioner on the post and then lay the knotted mesh.
